Man caught in Philadelphia, faces murder charge in Bennettsville

BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. – A man who was wanted in connection with the death of a man in Bennettsville was taken into custody Monday in Philadelphia, according to a Bennettsville Police Department news release.

Dupri Shimir Grady was taken into custody without incident and will be extradited back to Bennettsville. He will face charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Lewis “Bobe Jack” Zimmerman was killed Saturday in the city limits of Bennettsville.

This is still an ongoing investigation that could lead to more charges and arrests, according to the release.

The Bennettsville Police Department commended the public for all of the information provided, SLED’s Fugitive Task Force Unit for its assistance in tracking Grady and the Marlboro County Sheriff Office for its assistance at the scene.
