SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) — Santa Monica police have arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of killing someone whose body was found on a bench outside of a hospital.

Twenty-six-year-old Daniel Roy Davis of San Diego was booked Friday for murder. He's being held on $2 million bail. It's unclear whether he has an attorney.

Police say officers were called to the Providence St. John's Health Center shortly before 7 a.m. after a security guard found a man dead on a bench on the hospital grounds.

Police Lt. Saul Rodriguez tells the Los Angeles Times that the man, who was in his 40s, may have been homeless and apparently was stabbed. It's unclear whether he was a patient.

There's no word on a motive for the killing.
