Midstates Petroleum: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Midstates Petroleum Co. (MPO) on Thursday reported a second-quarter loss of $1.5 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company said it had a loss of 6 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 18 cents per share.

The oil and gas company posted revenue of $42.3 million in the period.

Midstates Petroleum shares have declined 21 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 23 percent in the last 12 months.
