MESA, Ariz. (AP) — An Arizona preschool is claiming it was rejected by discount website Groupon because of its faith-based philosophy.

Officials at Munchkin's Preschool in Mesa told KTVK-TV (http://bit.ly/1m3ZL5c) that they contacted Groupon about creating a deal to boost enrollment.

Tracy Tingue, an operating partner in the preschool, says the company canceled the deal after learning Munchkin's espouses faith-based education.

Tingue says staff do talk about prayers and read Bible stories but kids of all denominations are welcome.

A Groupon spokesman says the company has offered deals for religious businesses including a Jewish community center and a Christian store. But the spokesman declined to say why the deal with Munchkin's was axed.

Tingue drew complaints and some headlines in 2009 for displaying well-endowed mannequins outside his Chandler used car dealership to lure customers.
