Woman reports being attacked by bear in Montana
KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — Wildlife officials say a woman reported being attacked by a bear in a remote part of northwestern Montana.
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials said the woman reported the attack Thursday morning and was flown to a hospital in Kalispell for her injuries.
There were few initial details about the attack in the Cabinet Mountains south of Libby.
The woman has not been identified and FWP spokesman Dillon Tabish said the extent of her injuries is unknown.
It also is not clear whether the bear was a grizzly or black bear, or what led up to the attack.
Tabish says FWP response team has been sent to the area.
