Two People Arrested After Pig’s Head Found on Synagogue Door
YORK, Pa. (AP) _ Two people with ties to a skinhead group have been arrested on charges of hanging a pig’s head on the door of a synagogue, police said.
Andrea Arnold, 18, and Mason Aldrich, 22, were charged Wednesday with ethnic intimidation and vandalism for last month’s attack at Ohev Sholom synagogue.
The two are associated with a group called the Eastern Hammer Skinheads, police said.
``It’s not very soothing to know that down the road ... are a bunch of skinheads,″ said Rabbi Kenneth Cohen. ``We’re just going to continue what we do unimpeded and unintimidated.″
Police tracked the suspects through the purchase of the pig’s head at a meat stand. Three high school students told police they saw Aldrich and Arnold take the head to the synagogue.
The two are due in court March 17. If convicted, they each face up to 10 years in prison and a $22,800 fine.
