AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) _ Quarterback Will Furrer passed for 273 yards and two touchdowns to pilot the Amsterdam Admirals to a 17-7 victory on Saturday over the Dusseldorf Rhine Fire in the World League of American Football.

The Admiral's first home game of the season was watched by 8,492 fans in Amsterdam's Olympisch Stadion.

Left-handed Furrer, who played for the Houston Oilers last season, passed 14 yards to wide receiver Derek Hill for the game's first touchdown in the third quarter.

Duesseldorf quarterback Andy Kelly brought the Fire back with a 16-yard TD pass to tight end Byron Chamberlain, allocated by the Denver Broncos.

Furrer, who was 24-of-38, put together a magnificent 75-yard drive to settle the outcome. Furrer got two first downs on passes to Phillip Bobo, then found him for 10-yard touchdown that gave Amsterdam a 10-point lead.

The only score in a defense-dominated first half was a 31-yard field goal kicked by Amsterdam's Adam Vinatieri.
