Coast & Main brings surf and turf menu to Monroeville

Monroeville restaurant Coast & Main is open for business as of Tuesday, Aug. 14.

A new restaurant, Coast & Main, will open for business Tuesday at 705 Mall Circle Drive, Monroeville.

Michelle and chef Ricky Kirsop are the culinary couple behind the Pacific Northwest-inspired seafood and chop house, according to a news release.

The Aug. 14 opening introduces guests to a menu featuring a diverse assortment of seafood flown in daily from the Pacific Northwest, the release adds, including Dungeness crabs, Manila clams, Penn Cove Mussels and Petrale sole.

Patrons also can choose from a menu of premiere cuts of meats and poultry, the release states.

Among Kirsop’s signature dishes are smoked salmon chowder, Chilean sea bass prepared either with a smoky bacon miso with cucumber salad or hazelnut encrusted, lamb chops with a rosemary thyme honey glaze and mint chimichurri, certified Angus beef, dry-aged beef and Waygu filet.

Numerous toppings and sauces will be available, along with an array of signature side dishes such as a lobster risotto and a spinach soufflé.

Michelle Kirsop has spent her management career in Pittsburgh restaurants including Monterrey Bay Fish Grotto and McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks; Ricky Kirsop is an award-winning chef with classical training in the Northwest, the release states.
