Keller Williams to bring solo tour to V Club

January 11, 2019

HUNTINGTON — Tickets are on sale now for the return of the genre-blurring jam artist Keller Williams to The V Club.

Williams, who has nearly a dozen musical projects with everyone from The Travelin’ McCourys and The Keels to Grateful Grass and Petty Grass, will be appearing solo.

The concert is set for Friday, Feb. 8. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, for $22 in advance or $25 at the door, if not sold out. Entry is for those 18 and up. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the show at 9 p.m.

The tour stop is part of Williams’ winter solo tour that winds through the Mid-Atlantic before rolling out west, and then to the U.S. Virgin Islands and even Alaska.

Williams, who is known for his ADM (Acoustic Dance Music), solo acoustic guitar and voice with every other song walking the line of electronica, is touring off of his latest album, “Sans,” his first fully instrumental album that was released in the fall.

This is Williams’ first trip back to Huntington’s V Club since December 2015. Williams, a Virginia resident who has been on the scene since 1994′s “Freek,” became quickly known for his solo live shows — and his ability to improvise to his determinedly quirky tunes despite the absence of an actual band — quickly became the stuff of legend, and his audience grew exponentially when word spread about this exciting, unpredictable performer.

One of the most perennially popular performers on the jam band festival circuit, Williams has collaborated with a wide range of artists from the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir, banjo master Bela Fleck, bass great Victor Wooten, American musician/poet Michael Franti, bluegrass acts such as Larry and Jenny Keel, the Travelin’ McCoury’s and many more.
