New Correspondent Named for Rochester
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) _ Hilary Appelman, a newswoman in the Richmond bureau of The Associated Press, has been named AP correspondent in Rochester.
The appointment was announced Monday by Lew Wheaton, AP chief of bureau for upstate New York.
Ms. Appelman, 25, joined the AP in Richmond in 1987 after graduating from Yale University and spending a year in the Philippines as a Fulbright scholar.
She is a native of Downers Grove, Ill. In Rochester she succeeds Randolph Picht, who recently was named AP correspondent in St. Louis.
