Derby High School staff extinguish fire
DERBY — A fire at Derby High School was extinguished by staff Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.
Three fire engines and six additional fire units responded to the reported fire. The alert for the blaze came over just before 8:30 a.m. for a fire at Derby High School.
Fire officials said when fire units got to the scene and found out that there was a small fire that had been put out by school staff. The blaze was in the faculty lounge, fire officials said.
Units remained on scene for about 20 minutes. There were no injuries reported, officials said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
