It’s a busy and fun time of year
We are going to keep rolling on a jam-packed calendar for the next few weeks!
Today is the annual Ag Partners Tour, as the Chamber Agribusiness Committee hosts community and state leaders on a tour of ag businesses to show them today’s realities in that key industry. We’re pleased to have Congressman Fortenberry with us on the Tour today, as well, as it is critical to keep our leaders in Washington connected to agriculture.
The Ag Committee appreciates the willingness of Pillen Family Farms, Larson Dairy, and Lindsay Manufacturing to open their doors and tell their stories. I’m inviting all entrepreneurs, or those who wish they were, to a truly exciting opportunity next weekend. Saturday, Sept. 29, The Combine comes to Columbus. The Combine will seek out local entrepreneurs who are ready to embark on their journey to business success. It’s part “Shark Tank,” part business training, part local and national networking … all those parts add up to quite an experience for a real entrepreneur! The Chamber’s E-ship Committee is inviting everyone who has even an inkling about becoming a serious entrepreneur to attend the Kickoff Workshop for The Combine from 8 a.m. to noon on Sept. 29. Registration is free at www.econic.co/columbus.
The news from Taste of Columbus this week is the committee’s announcement of this year’s raffle item and most of the Royal Auction items.
The committee thanks McChristy Jewelers for providing a stunning diamond pendant for this year’s raffle! Tickets can be purchased from committee members or at the Chamber for $10 (3 for $25). You do not need to be present to win.
Royal Auction items are getting posted on the Chamber’s website everyday as they are confirmed. We’ve got a wonderful selection of party packages, golf, Huskers, New York City, and practical items, too.
Tickets can now be reserved for the premier fall event in Columbus. Taste of Columbus will be on Sunday, Oct. 7 at Ramada-Columbus to mark Columbus Day weekend. We will be enjoying outstanding food from leading Columbus food vendors and raising funds to benefit the Chamber of Commerce and Columbus Area Future Fund.
