Paving to begin on KY 5 in Boyd, Greenup

September 1, 2018

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. - Contractors will begin work on paving a four-mile section of KY 5 in Boyd and Greenup counties Tuesday, Sept. 4, according to a news release from the Kentucky Department of Highways District 9.

Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, with paving beginning Thursday, Sept. 6, between the KY 716 - Summit Road intersection (mile 6.8) to U.S. 23 at Bellefonte (milepoint 10.8). Daily lane closures and one-lane traffic should be expected.

The Kentucky DOH advises travelers to plan for delays or seek alternate routes due to the high volume of traffic on KY 5 and to pay attention to work-zone speed limits and remain aware of workers and equipment.
