UML 9th in N.E. XC

BOSTON -- The UMass Lowell men’s cross country team turned in a strong showing Saturday while continuing to work on its depth on the 8k course at Franklin Park in the New England Championships.

UMass Lowell finished ninth in a field of 26 schools despite holding most of those likely to run under the River Hawk banner at the America East Conference Championships.

The River Hawks accumulated 239 point. UMass Amherst topped the team standings with 84 points, followed by Northeastern and MIT.

Dhahran Velasquez was the top UMass Lowell finisher. Velasquez finished 16th clocking in with a time of 25:25.

Cody Kingman was the second River Hawk scorer, in 25:50.82. Grant Hauverwas the next across, followed by Jack Kalil and sophomore Noah Bellomo (Hudson, N.H.) in 26:19.
