Jazz Suspend Starks for One Game

December 28, 2000

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ Utah Jazz guard John Starks was suspended for Thursday night’s game against Portland for violating team policies.

Team spokesman Kim Turner refused to elaborate on the suspension, but said Starks would return for Friday’s game at Golden State.

Starks had started all but two games this season. An 11-year veteran, he replaced the retired Jeff Hornacek this season at shooting guard. Starks has averaged 9.9 points per game.
