Friday evening Darlington County crash kills one person
HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- A Hartsville woman died Friday afternoon following a crash at the intersection of High Point and Indian Branch Roads.
The 4:15 p.m. crash happened when a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by a juvenile, with a juvenile passenger, made a left turn from High Point Road onto Indian Branch Road and was struck by a south-bound 1998 GMC Blazer, said Lance Cpl. Matt Southern, South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Southern said the driver of the Hyundai failed to yield the right of way to the Blazer.
The two juveniles were transported to a Florence area hospital for treatment of their injuries. The GMC driver was transported to a Hartsville area hospital where she later died of her injuries, Southern said.
Darlington Count Coroner J. Todd Hardee, in announcing the death Friday night, said he would release additional information on the victim at a later time.
