How about Harvest Fest this weekend?
FRANKLIN GROVE – The Franklin Grove Harvest Festival returns this weekend.
There will be more than 50 garage sales from Friday through Sunday.
A smoked pork dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the American Legion, 139 N. Elm St. The dinner, prepared by Back Alley Bar-B-Q, is $8. A DJ will provide music until 9.
The barbecue pork chop dinner will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
The Living History Antique Equipment show runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday on Whitney Road.
There will be a Harvest Fest Hoedown from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, with youth activities for kids 5 to 12 at Atlasta Park. There also will be a bags tournament from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the park.
Chaplin Creek Historic Village, 1715 Whitney Road, will host historical displays, living history presentations and more Saturday and Sunday.
The parade kicks off at 5 p.m. Saturday
A beer garden featuring a DJ and music from classic rock band Problem Child will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight Saturday.
On Sunday, First Presbyterian Church will host a church breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Atlasta Park, with a community church service in between, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Participants should bring a lawn chair.
