Former NBC Correspondent John Palmer Taking Over ‘World Monitor’

BOSTON (AP) _ Former NBC correspondent John Palmer will become anchorman of ″World Monitor,″ a weeknight news program sponsored by the Christian Science Church.

Palmer will take over Dec. 2 for John Hart, who is resigning, it was announced Wednesday.

The acclaimed half-hour show airs on The Discovery Channel.

Palmer, most recently host of the syndicated program ″Instant Recall,″ spent 26 years at NBC and was anchorman of the ″Today″ show from 1982 to 1989. Earlier, he was a correspondent at the White House and in Paris and Beirut.

Hart has been ″World Monitor″ anchorman since its 1988 premiere.
