WVC SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Dunn Hits Winner For Sem

At Wyoming Seminary, Alexus Dunn hit a ground ball that scored Hannah Maxwell in the bottom of the seventh inning, helping the Blue Knights come back for a 6-5 walk-off win over Holy Redeemer Thursday, their eighth straight win.

Dunn and Halle Kehl each hit home runs for Sem. Campbell Kelly was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.

Delaney Romanchick was the winning pitcher, scattering seven hits and five runs (one earned) over seven innings. She had 11 strikeouts.

McKenna Dolan and Liz Mendrzycki had two hits apiece for Holy Redeemer.

At Northwest, the Rangers and Meyers hit a staggering four home runs each, including two by Meyers’ Alexis Semanek, who paced the Mohawks in a road win.

Lael Walker also hit a home run for Meyers as part of a 2-for-3 day with three runs scored. Lyssa Rhodes was 4 for 4 with five RBIs and a home run. Isabella Davies added a pair of singles.

Northwest’s Brenna Babcock, Alaina Carle, Trista Babcock and Nicole Cragle each homered. Aleigha Parnell went 3 for 4.

At Lake-Lehman, Sara Whitesell (2 for 2, two runs), Sarah Tuzinski (2 for 4, two runs, two RBIs) and Emilee Bobos (2 for 4, RBI) provided plenty of pop in their bats at the top of Hanover Area’s lineup in a win.

Tuzinski was also the winning pitcher, as she threw seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts.

Tuzinski allowed only three hits, besting Lake-Lehman’s Krista Scoblick, who threw a quality complete game and took the loss.
