KissCam, LLC Receives First Patent for “Contest in the Arena”

January 8, 2019

Denver, Colo, Jan. 08, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KissCam, LLC today announced receiving a U.S. patent for “Contest in the Arena” that provides a method and system for collecting, communicating and evaluating digital images of participants’ public displays of affection from various entertainment venues.

The KissCam, LLC patent (#10162839) is for a proprietary mobile app architecture that allows attendees to upload photos in branded frames and participate in contests in specific locations, venues, and arenas.

“This is a ‘GAME CHANGER’ for in-arena contests, and KissCam, LLC is the only mobile app granted a patent for this,” said Dana R. Veitch, Founder, and CEO of KissCam, LLC. “Event organizers have the opportunity to engage with attendees on a deeper level, gain more exposure of their event through social media shares, and generate an additional revenue stream by offering branded sponsorship of the contest.”

KissCam, LLC’s app is available for download in the App Store or Google Play Store. The app can generate new ad revenue streams for organizations through sponsorship fees, provide basic data about participants at the event, and branded photo shares on social media.

“It’s estimated in 2019 we’ll see growth in social network users rise to approximately 2.77 billion users worldwide, up from 2.46 billion in 2017,” said Dr. Tamara Hannaway, professor in Business Information and Analytics at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. “Organizations sponsoring the KissCam, LLC mobile app have the potential to gain multiple benefits including increased social media brand awareness, user engagement, and valuable participant data at a low cost of entry.”

The KissCam app can be utilized by organizations such as venues, sports teams, bands, conference organizers, and wedding planners. A branded photo frame is designed to meet all smartphone specifications, either by KissCam or the organization, and is available for download during the event. The custom frame is geo-fenced and only displayed to participants located within a certain distance of the event venue. Attendees download the app, place their photo in the custom event photo frame, and submit their photo. Semi-finalists are selected, and participants can vote on the photo they like best. The participant’s photo garnering the highest number of votes will win prizes provided by the sponsor.

KissCam, LLC also offers a personalized “white label” version of its proprietary mobile app to individuals, celebrities, athletes, and more. This app provides another option for individuals to further extend their visibility, brand, and fan engagement. The company is diligently pursuing additional intellectual property rights to include in the family of KissCam products.
