INDIAN CENTER AILING

LINCOLN _ Marshall Prichard said keeping the doors open at the Lincoln Indian Center is like flying an airplane while trying to fix it at the same time. SENT: 430 words.

IN BRIEF:

SOUTH BELTWAY _ Design work is finished for an 11-mile, four-lane expressway south of Lincoln that’s designed to divert truck traffic away from a heavily traveled city highway.

MOTOR FUELS TAX _ Nebraska’s motor fuel tax is slated to rise from 28 cents per gallon to 29.6 cents, a rate that will be in effect from Jan. 1 through June 30, 2019.

DEER MEAT PROGRAM _ A Nebraska program that provides ground venison to Nebraska residents in need will be able to accept an additional 100 deer because of several donations.

SHUTDOWN-NEBRASKA STATE GOVERNMENT _ Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts’ administration is warning state agencies to brace for the impact of the partial federal government shutdown.
