Spartans host Buckeyes...Mississippi State takes on Alabama...Clemson visits Boston College
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — No. 8 Ohio State is visiting No. 24 Michigan State in a Big Ten matchup. The 8-1 Buckeyes face a team that has given them trouble in the past as they head for a season-ending showdown with Michigan that could decide the division title. The 6-3 Spartans could improve their chances at a berth in the Rose Bowl with a win. The game is the first of three today that match ranked teams.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Top-ranked Alabama looks to extend its 10-game winning streak over No. 18 Mississippi State when the SEC West rivals meet today in Tuscaloosa. Alabama is coming off a 29-0 win over No. 9 LSU that got the Crimson Tide a spot against No. 5 Georgia in the SEC championship game.
BOSTON (AP) — The best Boston College team in a decade is standing in the way of No. 2 Clemson’s fourth straight trip to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game. If Clemson beats the 17th-ranked Eagles tonight in Boston, the Tigers would claim their fourth straight Atlantic Division title and remain on track for another playoff berth. A win by Boston College would leave the schools tied for the division lead. That would give the Eagles a chance to reach the ACC title game for the first time since back-to-back appearances in 2007-08.
PRAGUE (AP) — Barbora Strycova rallied from a set down to give the Czech Republic a 1-0 lead over defending champion United States in the Fed Cup final. Playing in the last Fed Cup fixture of her career, the 32-year-old Strycova overcame an early scare to defeat Sofia Kenin 6-7, 6-1, 6-4. The American teenager was making her Fed Cup debut on the indoor hardcourt at Prague’s O2 Arena.
