Delaware school bus driver refuses to let student board
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — A 14-year-old Delaware student is back on his school bus after the driver refused to let him board it one day.
The Delaware News Journal reports the driver wouldn’t let Kyle Manley board the bus to Stanton Middle School on Tuesday. Sutton Bus Company told his parents later that Kyle had been riding the wrong bus the entire school year.
The Red Clay Consolidated School District contracts with Sutton for bus services.
A district spokeswoman says the driver double-checked the bus roster because she was having disciplinary problems on the bus. That’s when she discovered Kyle had been riding the wrong bus for months.
Assistant superintendent Ted Ammann said in an email that Kyle has since been reassigned to the bus he has ridden all year.
