PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ Jerome Kersey of the Portland Trail Blazers has been added to the slam-dunk competition at this weekend's NBA All-Star Game.

Kersey replaces Atlanta's Dominique Wilkins, who has been slowed by soreness in recent games and decided to pull out of the competition to concentrate on the All-Star contest itself.

Kersey competed in the slam-dunk contest last season. He will be one of two Trail Blazers in the competition. The other is Clyde Drexler.

The slam-dunk contest will be held Saturday at the Seattle Coliseum. The All-Star Game is Sunday in the Kingdome.
