No. 14 Missouri 75, Marathon Oil 73
COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ Freshman Danny Allouche hit a 3-pointer with 1:03 left to play, giving No. 14 Missouri a 75-73 exhibition victory over Marathon Oil Friday night.
Allouche struggled throughout the game, scoring only from the free throw line, until he hit the 3-pointer from the right side of the key. He finished with 8 points.
Marathon’s John Taft, who scored 19 points, missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Sophomore Kelly Thames, who sat out last season with a knee injury, scored 12 points in the second half to finish with 16 and also grabbed 11 rebounds. Senior Simeon Haley scored 14 points.
Marathon Oil, down 43-30 at halftime, went on a 21-2 run to erase a 55-36 deficit. Missouri’s Chip Walther ended the streak with a 3-pointer at the 10:50 mark to give the Tigers a 60-58 lead. The teams traded baskets until the end.
The Tigers open regular season play Nov. 25 at home against Wofford College.
