Resident robbed at gunpoint outside home; parent threatens school principal: Brook Park police blotter

Aggravated robbery, Shelby Drive: Police hope to identify and arrest a male and female who used a handgun to rob a Shelby home.

The robbery occurred at about 11 p.m. Oct. 3. The victim had arranged to sell a video game system to the male and female. The victim had never met the male and female before.

When the victim brought the video game system outside, the male or female pointed a handgun at the victim. They stole the video game system and drove away.

The male robber was described as black and wearing a black jacket over a white or gray hooded sweatshirt. The female robber was described as black with red hair wearing a black bomber-style jacket. Their car was a dark-colored, later-model Chrysler sedan, possible a 200 or 300 model.

Menacing, Snow Road: The principal of Brookview Elementary School, 14105 Snow, called police at about 9 a.m. Oct. 3 after an angry parent made threatening comments to her and her staff.

The parent, 37, was the mother of a child who attends Brookview. She went to the school without an appointment to talk to the principal. The parent was upset about an incident that had occurred on a school bus.

The parent told the principal she was recording their conversation. The principal asked the parent to leave. The parent said she would physically harm the principal if anything happened to her child.

When police arrived, they saw the parent in the school parking lot and gave her a summons to appear in court.

Theft, Park Drive: A package left by a delivery service was stolen off a porch on Park.

The theft was reported at about 4:15 p.m. Sept. 30. A security video camera had recorded the theft. The victim gave the video to police.

Operating a vehicle under the influence-possessing a weapon while intoxicated, Eastland Road: A Concord man, 57, was arrested at about 10:40 p.m. Sept. 29 after police caught him speeding on Eastland.

The man was drunk. Police found a loaded handgun in his glove compartment. The man had a permit to carry the firearm.

Animal bite, Delores Boulevard: A loose pit bull bit a 74-year-old woman at about 6:15 p.m. Sept. 20 on Delores.

Police don’t know how the dog escaped its yard but they did identify and cite the dog’s owner. The woman drove herself to the hospital.

Theft, Engle Road: A 29-inch, 10-speed men’s bicycle was reported stolen at about 6:35 p.m. Sept. 29 from outside the Brook Park branch library, 6155 Engle. The bike had not been locked.

Theft, Harrison Drive: Two potted chrysanthemums were reported stolen at about 7:35 a.m. Sept. 28 from the front yard of a home.

Theft, West 130th Street: Several energy drinks were stolen at about 10:45 p.m. Sept. 26 from Speedway, 5764 West 130th.

Store workers saw a male slip the drinks into a duffel bag. He left the store without paying and drove way. Store workers called police.

Operating a vehicle under the influence, Sheldon Road: A Brook Park woman, 44, was arrested at about 1 a.m. Sept. 28 after police saw her vehicle weaving on Sheldon. She was drunk.
