Coulter-Trump union shutdown: Darcy cartoon

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The formal State of the Union address to the nation is scheduled to be given next Tuesday.  But Presidents Ann Coulter and Donald Trump have addressed the state of their union in tweets and interviews, with Coulter calling Trump a lying wimp and Trump calling Coulter “hostile”

Venezuela has two dueling presidents, and now the U.S. does too with Coulter and Trump.

After goading Trump into shutting down the government over border wall funding, Coulter derided Trump for reopening it without gaining the funding.

“Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States, ”  Coulter tweeted.

Calling Trump a wimp is an accurate assessment when considering the longest government shutdown began when he backed out of a govt. funding deal because he feared how Coulter and fellow conservative talker Rush Limbaugh would react.

Reportedly, Trump feels Coulter represents his base.  In interviews during the shutdown, Coulter boastfully portrayed herself as a Trump whisperer.

“I’ve been advising the President whether on twitter, columns or private conversations, you’re not allowed to know about, since election day.”

A conned Coulter has now gone from advising Trump to advising Democrats how to beat Trump, in an interview with Bill Maher.

“Look, it’s crazy that I expect a president to keep a promise he made every day for 18 months,” Coulter complained to Maher.

Maher replied, “You voted for him, Donald Trump, and now you’re finding out he’s a lying conman.  What was your first clue?”

“Ok, I’m a very stupid girl, fine,” joked Coulter.

Coulter then advised Democrats: “You want to get Trump? I’m telling you how to get Trump.  He promised something for 18 months and he lied.  It’s not this Russia nonsense.  You are so wasting time.”

The Washington Post reports that to date, Trump has made 8,158 false statements.  But now the Coulter clan are irate because they belatedly found out one of those lies was about their desired border wall.

In a recent phone interview, Trump told The Wall Street Journal that had been taken aback by seeing the images and stories of suffering furloughed government workers. That it made him anxious to end the shutdown.

Coulter is colder than the record cold temperatures hitting the nation for wanting to see the shutdown continue despite the suffering of furloughed workers struggling to pay their heating bill.
