Rare white buffalo calf dies at museum

August 31, 2018

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — A rare white buffalo recently added to the herd at the National Buffalo Museum in Jamestown has died.

Museum director Ilana Xinos says the calf, which came to live on its land this spring, was introduced as a foreign member of the herd and was not accepted.

KQDJ reports the buffalo was a descendant of White Cloud, another white bison that lived at the Museum for more than 19 years. The museum says the calf died of natural causes.
