Wayne Valin: Internet interruptions

As a senior citizen who doesn’t have a car, I am dependent upon the telephone and internet to have contact with friends and relatives here in town. This week the Suddenlink service was interrupted about noon and did not return until 10:30 p.m. While thankful I didn’t have a medical emergency during that time, it was a day that was full of isolation and anxiety for me. I can understand a failure for an hour or two, but 101/2 hours seems excessive and dangerous from a company that provides such a vital service. Of course, no explanation or apology was ever given for the inconvenience from a company that is practically a monopoly in the area. I can only hope this was the last time.
