Graham Academy Wins Award For Garden

November 12, 2018

The Graham Academy, a school for students living with autism and emotional challenges in Kingston, is the recipient of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Garden of Distinction Award in its Gardening and Greening Contest. The contest is statewide and had more than 300 entries this year.

The Graham Academy offers an extensive gardening program for its students, most recently introducing a new project featuring Growboxxes by Groasis, which are self contained garden systems that increase plant survivability by 90 percent while also using 90 percent less water.

“We are so proud of this award, because it shows our staff and students the importance of placing value in your work and striving to be the best version of yourself,” said Elizabeth Masi, the Environmental Education Coordinator at Graham Academy. “It represents how a community of people can work together, and support each other.”

An awards reception was held Wednesday in Philadelphia.
