Cory Jane recalled to All Blacks squad
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — New Zealand has recalled winger Cory Jane from an eight-month injury layoff and included him in the squad for Saturday’s Bledisloe Cup test against Australia.
Jane missed the Super Rugby season, New Zealand’s June tests against France and the Rugby Championships after rupturing knee ligaments in a training accident in January. The 43-test veteran returned to rugby last week when he played for Wellington in the National Provincial Championships.
He rejoins the All Blacks squad in place of center Conrad Smith who has begun a four-month sabbatical. Winger Ben Smith is expected to move to center for the Dunedin test, creating a vacancy on the right wing.
Center Francis Saili has also been recalled to the 29-man squad while flyhalf Dan Carter remains absent with a shoulder injury.
