Wagner 56, Fairleigh-Dickinson 54
NEW YORK (AP) _ Bobby Hopson, who finished with 18 points, hit a jumper with four seconds left Saturday night to give Wagner a 56-54 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson in the Northeast Conference.
Hopson, who scored all but two of his points in the second half, had tied the game 54-54 with a three-point play with 54 seconds remaining.
Wendell Brereton, who scored 13 points for Fairleigh-Dickinson, mishandled a pass with 40 seconds left to give Wagner the ball and a chance at the game- deciding basket.
Lamont Street and Miladin Mutavdzic each had 12 points for Wagner (9-7 overall, 4-3 Northeast), which has won three in a row.
Clive Anderson also had 13 for Fairleigh Dickinson (7-9, 4-2).
