Alabama man arrested on 11th anniversary of double killing
DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say an Alabama man has been arrested in a pair of killings on the 11th anniversary of the double homicide.
News outlets report that Enterprise police charged 41-year-old Robert Aaron Hvarven of Dothan with capital murder Tuesday.
The charges come 11 years to the day after 30-year-old James Mathew Helms and 20-year-old Scott Allen Heib were shot to death at their home near Enterprise.
Helms’ sister discovered the bodies after the men failed to show up for work at Bell Helicopter in Ozark.
Coffee County District Attorney Tom Anderson says Hvarven was a suspect from the start. He says the investigation moved forward with the new discovery of new evidence four years ago.
Court records aren’t available to show whether Hvarven has a lawyer to speak on his behalf.
