Family of 4 displaced by Greenwich fire
GREENWICH — The Red Cross has been called to help a family of four relocate after a fire in their residence Saturday afternoon, according to dispatch reports.
Around 3:24 p.m., Greenwich fire units rushed to South Water Street after receiving multiple calls about a fire.
Firefighters got to the house within three minutes and confirmed a working fire. The crews managed to get the scene under control and the blaze extinguished by 3:34 p.m., fire officials said.
Two fire engines and a fire truck remained at the scene to check for any hotspots and to ensure the flames didn’t reignite.
Around 4:30 p.m., fire units on scene asked the dispatcher to call in the Red Cross to help a family of two adults and two children who were living on the second floor and were displaced.
Reports indicated the family of three on the first floor were able to remain in the house.
