Connecticut real estate market freezes up in January
Connecticut house sales dropped 14 percent in January from a year earlier, the largest such decline since the Great Recession according to the Massachusetts-based Warren Group.
Statewide, 1,835 homes were purchased last month, 310 fewer than in January 2018. The price of the median home sold in Connecticut was down only 0.4 percent from the equivalent median home a year ago.
Condo sales were down 18 percent to 519 transactions, with the price of the median condo sold up slightly.
