US marshals double reward for man wanted in death of DC girl
WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Marshals Service has doubled its reward for information leading to the arrest of a man accused of killing a 10-year-old girl who was headed out for ice cream.
WTOP-FM reports the service announced Monday that it’s offering $10,000 for information on 19-year-old Isaiah Murchison, who’s wanted on a charge of first-degree murder in the slaying of Makiyah Wilson.
Makiyah was killed last summer while walking through the crowded courtyard of her Washington, D.C., apartment complex. Authorities say four masked men leapt out of a car and fired at the crowd, inadvertently striking Makiyah.
Murchison is one of 11 people charged in the slaying. The charged people will be tried in groups, with the first trial set for next summer.
