Man who fled Ward County Courthouse arrested after half year
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Minot man who fled the Ward County Courthouse after a judge revoked his probation has been arrested after six months.
Thirty-eight-year-old John Rude was ordered immediately detained on March 15 after a judge sentenced him to six months in jail. Authorities say he ran out the front door of the courthouse and deputies were unable to catch him.
The Minot Daily News reports that Rude was arrested Monday. Judge Todd Cresap ordered that he immediately begin serving his six-month sentence.
Rude also now faces a felony escape charge that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. He’s due in court Oct. 18.
