Bucknell 70, Colgate 68

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) _ Brian Anderson scored 17 points as Bucknell blew a 16-point, second-half lead but held on and defeated Colgate 70-68 in Patriot League action Saturday.

Sekou Hamer made five free throws in the game’s final 34 seconds to seal the win for Bucknell (7-10, 5-0). The Bison have now won seven of nine after starting the season 0-8.

Freshman Adonal Foyle scored 17 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked six shots for Colgate (5-11, 3-2), setting a team single-season record with 80 blocks. Malik Cupid led the Red Raiders with 20 points.

Leading 42-35 at halftime, Bucknell built a 53-37 advantage with 14:13 remaining. Colgate then went on a 20-5 run over the next nine minutes and cut it to 58-57. But that was as close as they came as Hamer made the decisive free throws down the stretch.

Tucker Neale added 17 points for Colgate.
