Katie Frazier: Though controversial, Jeffree Star offers quality products

September 5, 2018

Jeffree Star is a pretty controversial person — and an acquired taste — but he makes absolutely amazing makeup.

He launched his brand, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, in late 2015 and was an immediate success. The brand offers many beauty products such as liquid lipsticks, highlighters, eyeshadows, fashion and many other beauty-related items.

Today, I am going to talk to you about some of my favorite things you can get from Jeffree Star Cosmetics and why you need to add them to your makeup bag.

Androgyny Palette

Jeffree Star has successfully made four eyeshadow palettes, but to this day my absolute favorite one is his second release - the Androgyny Palette. It has very sleek and high quality, pink faux crocodile packaging. Jeffree is a very colorful person and he calls this palette his version of a neutral palette - but to the average makeup wearer, it is so unique and full of more gorgeous earthy tones that pair very well together.

You do get neutral shades, ranging in finishes of matte and metallic, but you also get a couple pops of color, which is very Jeffree Star. This palette has amazing, blendable pigmentation and 10 gorgeous shades including pops of blue and green.

Might I add, the pan size of these eyeshadows are HUGE. This eyeshadow palette is vegan and cruelty free and retails for $45.

Lip Ammunition

These are one of Jeffree Star’s newer lip products that I have also fallen in love with. First of all, Lip Ammunition is super cute in its pink bullet packaging, but the actual formula is just as amazing. It is one of the most long-lasting stick-form lipsticks that I have ever tried, and it smells like creamsicle ice cream, so that’s a plus.

The Lip Ammunition line offers 19 shades of lipstick, ranging from nudes, pinks, reds and more in a satin finish with extreme pigmentation.

Jeffree’s Lip Ammunition lipsticks are vegan, cruelty free, paraben free and gluten free. You get 0.12 ounces of product and they retail for $18.

Velour Liquid Lipsticks

The Velour Liquid Lipsticks have became a game changer in my everyday makeup. They are extremely long-lasting and contain a very comfortable matte formula to wear throughout the day. Jeffree Star offers a wide variety of over 60 lipstick shades in his Velour Liquid Lipstick formula, ranging in shades between black, white, blue, green, pink, orange, red, nude shades and more. There is a shade for anyone or any look you are trying to achieve.

My personal favorite shades are, “Family Jewels,” “I’m Nude,” “Mannequin,” “Celebrity Skin” and “Unicorn Blood.” His formula is vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, gluten free and eye safe - so you could even use them to make some fun eyeliner looks.

You get 0.19 ounces of product and the lipsticks retail for $18. He also offers bundles where he has eight mini-sized Velour Liquid Lipsticks for the price of $52, which I think is the perfect way to test out his formula for yourself and help you find you favorite shades.

Velour Liquid Lip Scrubs

Lip scrubs have became crucial in my everyday routine. I have been using Jeffree Star’s Velour Lip Scrubs for over a year and a half now, and I don’t know how I have went this long without them in my life.

They make the application and the appearance of lipstick much more smooth. Jeffree offers 20 different flavors of the Velour Lip Scrubs that include “Blue Raspberry Sucker,” “Watermelon Gum,” “Pancakes and Syrup,” “Marshmallow,” “Rainbow Sherbet” and many more.

His lip scrubs are sugar based, vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, gluten free and completely edible (and delicious if I do say so myself). You get 1 ounce of product, and they retail for $12.
