Donald Trump threatens to boycott Democrats’ bills over border wall fight
President Trump threatened Thursday to boycott Democrats’ legislation if they continue to fight him on the border wall.
The Democrats, who know Steel Slats (Wall) are necessary for Border Security, are putting politics over Country. What they are just beginning to realize is that I will not sign any of their legislation, including infrastructure, unless it has perfect Border Security. U.S.A. WINS! Donald J. While it appears that Republicans have backed down on the target figure for the border wall, Mr. Trump’s words make it clear the fight will continue in a divided Congress.
The White House signaled on Tuesday that it might accept less than the $5 billion that Mr. Trump originally wanted for the border wall.
“We have other ways that we can get to that $5 billion,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Fox News.
That same day, Mrs. Sanders told the press that the president asked all federal agencies to contribute some money for the border wall.
The Senate passed a spending bill Wednesday night. It now heads to the House, where it will be likely voted on Thursday.
A GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Mr. Trump’s border wall surpassed $3 million Thursday morning. The goal is to reach $1 billion.
