Westmoreland Exits Erskine for WNBA
DUE WEST, S.C. (AP) _ Erskine College women’s basketball and softball coach Traci Westmoreland has resigned to take a front-office job with the Sacramento Monarchs of the Women’s National Basketball Association.
School officials announced Westmoreland’s resignation Thursday. Erskine athletic director Chip Sherer said a new coach could be named by early next month.
Westmoreland had a 46-88 record in five seasons coaching the Lady Fleet basketball team although she was voted 1997 coach of the year in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference. The softball team went 94-131-1 in her five seasons as head coach.
