TORONTO (AP) — The Astros put an exclamation point on their outstanding first half by ripping the Blue Jays, 19-1 in Toronto. Carlos Correa homered twice and drove in a career-high five runs as Houston became just the fifth team in the last 40 years to reach 60 wins before the All-Star break, one day after the Dodgers did it.

CHICAGO (AP) — The defending World Series champs stagger into the All-Star break two games under .500. The Cubs are 5 ½ games behind first-place Milwaukee in the NL Central, after the Pittsburgh Pirates erupted for 10 runs in the first inning of a 14-3 pounding yesterday.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Fans in Cleveland saw a showdown of All-Star pitchers Sunday who, as a result, will not play in tomorrow night’s game. Michael Fulmer yield two earned runs in six-plus innings, the Tigers beat the AL Central-leading Indians, 5-3. Cleveland wasted a nice outing by Corey Kluber, who gave up a run and three hits with eight strikeouts over five innings.

With Harden under contract on his existing deal for another two seasons, the extension should not affect Houston’s aggressive pursuit of free agents this summer as the Rockets try to make a run at the Golden State Warriors.
