Penn Hills High School play highlights cinema iconAlfred Hitchcock’s early work

Penn Hills High School freshmen and sophomores present “Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play” by Joe Landry.

The performance is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Thomas A. Bond Jr. Auditorium, 309 Collins Dr.

Alfred Hitchcock was an iconic English film producer and director.

Students, under the direction of Kala Williams, will deliver a 1940s style radio broadcast of the master of suspense’s earlier films.

It’s a triple feature with “The Lodger,” “Sabotage” and “The 39 Steps,” complete with vintage commercials.

Stories feature spies, murder, love, some dry and dark humor with other Hitchcock trademarks.
