Equipment, keys stolen from former Marine recruiting office

BARBOURSVILLE — The following information was provided by police reports filed at the Cabell County

BURGLARY: More than $100,000 worth of equipment was reported stolen Tuesday from a vacant building that for merly housed a Marines recruiting station in the 3100 block of U.S. 60 in Ona.

According to the police report, a facial recognition system, data system, telecommunication system, a key box and a retractable screen were taken from the facility, with an estimated value of $141,900. The complainant told police he had last shown the building to a potential buyer on Nov. 15 and he received a phone call from a property maintenance worker that the door was found open around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The complainant also told police the key box stolen contains keys that open every door in the building, including the exterior.

The Huntington Police Department listed 12 new incident reports in the 24-hour period ending at 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to the printout released by the department. However, the individual police reports were not made available, so these are the only known details:

Petit larceny, destruction of property — misdemeanor, burglary, entry of dwelling or outhouse, midnight Wednesday, 1900 block of 7th Avenue.

Fugitive from justice, 1:06 a.m. Wednesday, 900 block of 11th Street.

Deceased person, 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, 900 block of Jefferson Avenue.

Petit larceny, 9 a.m. Tuesday, 4700 block of Altizer Avenue.

Petit larceny, 8 p.m. Monday, 200 block of West 8th Avenue.

Theft of utilities, midnight Jan. 1, 2016, 600 block of West 23rd 1/2 Street.

Burglary, entry of dwelling or outhouse, 4:30 a.m. Monday, 1400 block of 5th Avenue.

Driveway, blocking, 3:21 p.m. Tuesday, 19th Street and 6th Avenue.

Grand larceny, destruction of property, misdemeanor, midnight Nov. 10, 1300 block of 8th Avenue.

Grand larceny, 8:59 a.m. Nov. 14, 700 block of 5th Street.

Domestic battery, 7:48 a.m. Tuesday, 200 block of 14th Street.

Breaking and entering auto, 9 p.m. Saturday, 2900 block of Washington Boulevard.

The following information was provided by booking records kept at Western Regional Jail:

Kevin Shawn Salyers, 30, was jailed at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with being a fugitive from justice. Bond was not set.

Brandon Hanshaw, 22, was jailed at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy. Bond was set at $20,000.
