November 7, 2018

An Odessa Police Department affidavit detailed a 25-year-old man was arrested after his girlfriend fatally overdosed Saturday in northeast Odessa.

Braxton Hudgens was charged Saturday with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, after he reportedly disposed of heroin packaging and paraphernalia.

OPD spokesperson Cpl. Steve LeSueur said the woman that overdosed was Ashley Fulton, 24, of Odessa. The incident occurred at 5:30 p.m. in Shiloh Estates at 2 Royal Manor Drive. OPD was dispatched to the residence in reference to a medical call, the affidavit stated. LeSueur said over the phone that Fulton was transported to Medical Center Hospital and was pronounced dead by medical staff.

Hudgens reportedly collected narcotic paraphernalia and attempted to conceal it from OPD officers, the affidavit stated. OPD officers searched the residence and found narcotic packaging was located in the toilet, the affidavit detailed.

Hudgens was arrested, charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He has one bond totaling $7,500 and a U.S. Marshal hold, jail records show. Hudgens was still in custody as of Monday afternoon.
