Men’s conference coming up at Calvary Baptist Church in Florence

FLORENCE, S.C. – “Back 2 Basics,” a “Be Strong” men’s conference, will be held in two weeks at Calvary Baptist Church in Florence.

The citywide conference will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 25.

The cost is $10 per person. Participants must be a rising freshman in high school or older.

Calvary Baptist Church is at 915 Cherokee Road in Florence.

The guest speaker will be Daniel Atkins, the lead pastor of Taylor Road Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He has served churches in South Carolina and North Carolina. He graduated from the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary at Wake Forest, North Carolina, with a Masters of Divinity. He also is a doctoral student at Anderson University.

The goal of the conference is for God to be glorified and for men throughout the Florence area to be challenged to remember and practice the basics of the Christian faith. The focus will be on Jesus’ call in Matthew 28:18-20.

Each participant will be given the option to attend two of three breakout sessions on Saturday morning: Grow Deep (worship), Stand Together (disciple) or Press On (evangelize).
