Fatal accidents on interstate highways. All were a result of fog except for the 1991 pileup near Fresno, which was caused by a dust storm:
_ Jan. 9, 1995: At least five killed in 10-vehicle pileup on Interstate 40 near Menifee, Ark.
_ Nov. 29, 1991: 17 killed, 150 injured in 104-car accident on I-5 near Fresno, Calif.
_ Dec. 11 1990: 13 killed, 51 injured in 83-car crash on I-75 near Calhoun, Tenn.
_ Dec. 30, 1989: Six killed, 34 injured, in 40-vehicle accident on I-40 in Flagstaff, Ariz. Ice also contributed.
_ Dec. 30, 1989: Six killed in 13-vehicle accident on I-74 near St. Joseph, Ill.
_ Sept. 8, 1988: Four killed, 16 injured in 17-vehicle accident after steam shrouds I-26 near Columbia, S.C.
_ Jan. 28, 1987: Four killed in 28-vehicle accident on I-10 near LaPlace, La.
_ Jan. 28, 1987: Four killed in 25-vehicle accident on I-10 near Anahuac, Texas.
_ Dec. 13, 1984: Three killed, 17 injured in 44-vehicle accident on I-95 bridge across Turtle River in Georgia.
