Erie Man Dies After Getting Caught in Tractor Drill Monday Night
An Erie man was killed Monday after it appears he was accidentally caught in drilling equipment.
Erie police Chief Kim Stewart said the incident occurred at 4:45 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of High Street. Police say it appears the man got some clothing caught in an auger, a device used to drill holes that is often attached to a tractor.
Stewart said the incident was “truly an accident” and a “terrible and sad situation.”
The Weld County Coroner will release the man’s name and will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.
