May 3, 2019

HUNTINGTON - The hearts of everyone in the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center could be heard going “ba-dum” as the sweet sounds of R&B performers Ella Mai, 6lack and Mahalia filled the theater in Huntington on Thursday evening.

Ella Mai won a Grammy earlier this year for best R&B song for her single “Boo’d Up,” which was also nominated for Song of the Year. In 2018, she released a full-length self-titled album.

Atlanta-based singer, songwriter and rapper 6lack came to fame with his 2016 single “PRBLMS” off the album “FREE 6LACK” and most recently released the album “East Atlanta Love Letter” in September 2018.

Mahalia, hailing from Birmingham, England, is best known for her 2018 single “I Wish I Missed My Ex.”

The show was brought to the Keith-Albee by the Marshall University Campus Activities Board.
