MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — A man who police say stole a truck and hid inside a home in the metropolitan Atlanta area has been arrested.

Marietta police spokesman Chuck McPhilamy told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the suspect stole an idling truck while its owner was inside his home Wednesday. The truck’s owner jumped into the bed of the truck, broke out the back window and wrested control of the vehicle, while the suspect pulled out a knife.

The suspect ran a block away where McPhilamy says he talked his way into a home. Police got a woman and children inside the home out, before surrounding the house. A Marietta police SWAT team negotiator got the man out of the home without incident.

The suspect hasn’t been identified. He has yet to be charged.
